It’s hard to believe watching it now, but this was actually an advertisement IN FAVOR of buying a house. Does it look like this guy is happy about this decision? Did it matter to anyone that this guy had some very grave reservations about being able to afford it? Even with the crazy-ass stunt loan they must have had, he was sweating it. Imagine how he must’ve felt when his ARM reset.  Do you think this couple still talks to the realtor who sold them into a probable 30-50% crash? Do you think they’re even still married?

I dunno, Tom, seems like a good one to put in the time capsule should people ever again decide they need McMansions, Hummers, $100k professional cook’s kitchens, country club memberships, luxury timeshares, etc.
